Newsletter March – Cancellation of Merseyside Regatta – Saturday 2nd May 2020

It is with great regret that Liverpool Victoria Rowing Club announces that Merseyside Regatta, due to be held on Saturday 2nd May 2020, will not now go ahead on that day. Like every other rowing club in the country, we have had to stop all rowing and training activity at the boathouse until the Coronavirus outbreak is over. Club members are continuing to train on their own, but it is very unlikely that anyone is going to be able to attend any rowing event at the beginning of May. We hope that we may be able to run the event later in the year and would like to think that the event is only delayed and not cancelled altogether. However, that depends on the progress of the Coronavirus outbreak and what restrictions might still be in place for rowing events later in the year. While we wait out this emergency, please stay motivated, fit and healthy, look after yourselves and your loved ones. We all hope to come through this and to enjoy our rowing in the future.
