Move over Christmas, December means Liverpool Victoria’s Head of the Float! Crews from all over the North West make the annual pilgrimage to take on the best local crews and worst conditions the West Float can throw at them to become, “Champions of the Float”. This challenging time trial event has taken place for over 100 years* and promises blood, sweat and tears every time. Over 300 athletes* of all ages and abilities take to the water of the West float to record a time. Their efforts matched by the hardy spectators who brave the bracing December weather to cheer them on! Hot food & drinks for sale in the boathouse keep everyone going, with cold drinks at the bar the post race reward for many.
