LVRC launch new Octuple!
Saturday 29th August saw the first outing for Liverpool Victoria Rowing Club’s refurbished octuple. The refurbishment has been made possible by the generosity of members and a grant from the Rowing Foundation, which contributed towards the new riggers and a speaker system.
On a breezy Saturday morning, a mixed crew of juniors put the boat through its paces and immediately showed a good level of coordination and enthusiasm. Saturday was also the first day on which crew boats were allowed to be used in this way, following British Rowing’s Phase E of response to Covid19. Whilst boats have to be rigorously cleaned, social distancing satisfied and the cox has to wear a facemask, it is good to see crews able to be out on the water. Next stop competition! but who knows when?
