Vics’ in Bloom

The first ever “Vics in Bloom” competition was held last week, judging took place on Wednesday evening with a clean sweep of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places going to the junior squad….! Time to step up adult squads. 1st place was an innovative creation of rowers in a boat entered by Paddy and Tara Saunders. 2nd place a very colourful claret and gold display by Joe Summers and 3rd place was a cheeky little display complete with working fairy lights by Eve and Will Elliot.
The judges were club President Neil Meadows and Committee member John Deakin, who both took the matter seriously having swatted up on the RHS competition guidelines!!
Thanks to everyone who took part in our very own Chelsea Flower Show with enthusiasm, the bar has been set high for next year and in the meantime we all get to enjoy the floral displays as they continue to bloom throughout the summer.
