Lockdown Regatta Awards

Liverpool Victoria Rowing Club members continue to keep fit and involved even during the lockdown. Over the May Bank Holiday weekend, four crews entered the Bath Spa University/De Montford University Lockdown Regatta and came away with a Bronze and a Gold medal. The event had 195 entries from clubs all over the country and was run on a format including time trials on Saturday and Finals on Sunday and Monday. Because not all participants had access to an ergometer, the races were run using the Strava running App to record 2k times. Two Open 1x were entered, as well as a WJ16 2x and MxOpen 2x. The WJ16 2x came third in their A Final with a time of 8:18, whilst the MxOpen 2x of Emily Bernhem and Flynn Jones won their A Final with a time of 7:11. Emily and Flynn’s time is the UK record for such an event. Congratulations to all those who took part!
