Travel on the M6 North towards Lancaster and avoid coming off at Lancaster South.
You will then pass the University on the left and then a very distinctive domed building also on the left. This is the Williamson Memorial built by Lord Williamson in memory of his wife. It is the centre of a landscaped city park.
Exit the M6 at junction 34 (signposted Morecambe)
At the end of the slip road turn right towards Lancaster.
After about a mile you approach a one way system through which you takes signs to the A6 (Carnforth).
After crossing a set of traffic lights the road crosses the river. Keep in the right hand lane and bear around to the right, but then move across to the left hand lane (signposted A6 Carnforth). Turn left onto the A6 and after passing a school on the right turn right to Halton.
This road becomes quite narrow for about 50 metres and then swings left. As soon as you have gone round this bend the rowing club is on the right.
