Cancellation of Merseyside Regatta 29th April 2023

It is with great regret that the Committee of Liverpool Victoria Rowing Club has decided to cancel Merseyside Regatta, which was due to be held on Saturday 29th April 2023. The regatta relies on our neighbours at Jenkins Shipping for use of their car park and quayside for car and trailer parking. Unfortunately, Jenkins Shipping are now storing higher ... More

Grace Read success in Nottingham

Grace Rhead's hard work paid off with a Bronze medal at the Junior Inter-regional Championships at Nottingham today. Grace actually won her race but the Championships were changed to a time trial because of the strong winds. Sculling on the West Float gives Grace an advantage on rough water and she used her boat handling skills to good effect. The ... More

Sunday 13th February saw the first event of 2022, attended by adult and junior crews. Thanks to Ray Percival for towing and getting the boats safely to Warrington. Not the kindest of days, cold with a strong wind, high water levels and a fast stream. Unfortunately, after a good first leg on the two leg 1800 metre course, Chris Rycroft and Paul Campbell ... GOOD RESULT AT BRITISH INDOORS

Although we were all disappointed to have to cancel Head of the Float on Saturday 4th December, one of our juniors took advantage of the day. Emily Bernhem continued her high performance training by entering the British Rowing Indoor championships. She recently performed well at the GB junior water trials and backed that up by a third place in the ... More

Head of Float 2021 – Cancelled

I am very sorry to announce the cancellation of Head of the Float, which was due to take place on Saturday 4th December 2021. Unfortunately, the Met Office weather forecast was for winds gusting up to 44 mph, which would make the dock unrowable. The most important issue is the safety of competitors. Holding our event at the beginning of December means ... More

Peter joined Liverpool Victoria just after the Second World War, having previously been a member of Wallasey School Boat Club. He was Club Captain in 1953 and 1954, made a Life Member in 1970 and served as a ... More
