Summer 2021 Newsletter

This strange year continues...we had hoped to be training and racing normally by now. However, regattas are being planned for but cancelled every week. With most of the North West under a 'travel minimisation' restriction, going to events is very difficult. The club has managed to send crews to the National Schools Regatta but that was before the ... More

The club held its annual Head of the Float on Saturday 30th November. Perhaps as a result of many other events in the North West, West Midlands and Yorkshire being cancelled due to river conditions, we had an almost full entry of 91 crews. Apart from North West club entries from Royal Chester, Grosvenor, Hollingworth Lake, Northwich, Trentham and Warrin... More

On Sunday 23rd June, the club launched its new Swift Explore coxed quad. This is a match to the coxed quad launched in 2016 (that one is named Heather, after Heather Parry who with Alex Sapple has driven the Learn to Row programme for the last few years). The new boat was named Alex, in recognition of all the hard work that he has done, bringing many new ... More
